Today, we'll be posting our very first member spotlight; this week, we'll be focusing on one of our Senior officers, Anya Sinha (President).
Anya Sinha- President:
Anya is a dedicated volunteer, frequently contributing her time to Mercy San Juan. In addition to her regular volunteering, she runs the "Patient of The Month" initiative at the hospital, engaging in insightful interviews with patients to learn more about their lives and stories beyond their illnesses. Her commitment to community service and support for others is unwavering, and she also holds a leadership position within Vista's National Honor Society chapter.
During her research internship at Harvard's Department of Psychiatry, she focused on investigating the environmental and genetic factors influencing cannabis usage among adolescents. Subsequently, she presented her findings to the Harvard Dept of Neurobiology and Psychiatry faculty. She later used her findings from this research project to develop drug prevention programs that can be implemented in middle and high school curricula during her internship at Brainwave.
